Why am I writing an article on this topic on Relationshipcoachonline.com ? Because we are going to come out of this lockdown with a high amount of poverty, unemployment, bankruptcies, financial, mental and emotional destruction.
What matters now more than ever, is a loving and sincere relationship, because for most people, that is all they are going to have.
This article is the way you’ll become worthy of the ’10’ you want but only imagine you deserve, and hopefully if enough people follow this exercise, we might have a lot more 10’s out there to choose from.
There are clear parallels between many spiritual, religious and mystical teachings about the creation, purpose and function of the Universe. Because a text written thousands of years ago can be hard to trust, I will write this article from an objective analysis based on my own personal experiences over 35 years of study.
Additionally, I will apply my experience of Satori, Nirvana, enlightenment, whatever you like to call it, basically liberation from this body for a period of time into the spiritual realm, and how I achieved that, to make the point of this article.
Based on that information, I’ve come to determine the correlation between the spiritual teachings and my experience, and how other people can reach that experience as well.
Let’s go back to the teachings. In multiple teachings, the concept of the seven sins in Christianity, is virtually the same in the Hermetic and Gnostic teachings, among others. I will not go into the full details of the creation myth, but rather focus on the part of the mythology that is relevant to our life.
They all speak of God the Maker of this Universe. God the Maker created seven gods, each with their own qualities. Each of those gods gave a portion of their own quality to man, the human, who is a mix of material and spiritual. Those qualities are the same as the seven sins.
We are basically made up of these seven negative qualities, clouding the essence of our pure spiritual essence.
In the Gnostic and Hermetic teachings, the image is that the seven gods are, or reside on, the seven planets, forming seven spheres, outside the orbit of the earth.
The job of each of these gods is to keep humans trapped on earth, the lowest part of the universe. They do this by clouding our pure spiritual essence with their qualities.
If one could get through those seven spheres, and pass beyond those seven gods, one would reach God the Maker, the one who made this universe. Once achieving that state of unity with God, there is more, but let’s get there first.
The vital question is; How can we pass through those seven spheres? The answer is simply by overcoming the control the seven qualities have over our life.
In order to succeed at a cleansing of the qualities, we must understand why they are created and placed upon us.
These qualities are the fences which trap us here, on earth, and in the endless loop of your repeated mistakes.
You may have noticed that you can be self-destructive in your behaviour and find it hard to stop yourself from putting your foot in your mouth. That often results in messing up your relationships, job, life, etc. If you want your life to change, you have to overcome these seven qualities.
The principle is, based on my personal experience, and I’m sure countless other people’s experiences who have achieved the state of spiritual awakening, that a profound experience happens only when the mind is totally at peace and relinquishes all attachment and grasping to anything in this world.
The relinquishment of desires is not quite precise. It’s actually the ego and childish demand for things to go the way you want them to, regardless of how undeserving you are or impossible that may be.
The qualities are: lust, gluttony, wrath, pride, envy, sloth and greed. I must make it clear that you should not take them literally in all cases. For example, lust is not about just sex. It is about bestiality, adultery, rape, simply put, the use of sex which causes harm to others or yourself. Otherwise, there is nothing wrong with sex, unless it controls your actions. I will not detail the seven sins, you can search that out on the internet.
Thinking about the seven qualities, you will see they all make you lose your mind. You get so caught up with the objective of that quality, that there’s no way for your mind to be peaceful or detached.
All the qualities are connected to some form of attachment to things or a human experience of sensation in the joy of sex, the joy of eating delicious foods to excess, the blindness that comes with rage and anger, etc.
The way to achieve freedom is to overcome these seven qualities, which allows one to pass through the seven boundaries which trap us on earth in the limited human condition. The goal is to go beyond the seven gods and reach God the Maker.
You can imagine what a true gem you would be, if you have overcome all seven of these qualities which we would call very negative. That is the person who is a true Human Being, and admired as well as desired, by all.
This means that there’s only one logical way to find happiness and achieve a spiritual awakening, or even a wonderful life, and basically it’s the only point that has any value whatsoever for our human existence.
If you want to be free of the qualities that cloud your essence, the daily exercise is to review the five questions before you go to sleep in respect to where have you allowed those seven qualities to control your thoughts, feelings and actions that day.
What did I do well today?
What did I do that I should not have done?
What didn’t I do that I should have done?
What did I do that I could have done better?
What do I want to do tomorrow?
As you ask yourself these five questions to review your day every night you should also be spending every moment of your day in self-observation and self-reflection to see if, before you speak, or act, is that going to be from one of those seven qualities.
As you overcome each of these qualities, your mind can achieve a state a total peace and detachment from the stresses of life.
DESTINY
A discussion of this nature would not be complete without discussing Destiny. In some traditions, Destiny is thought to be fixed for your life, but that contradicts the concept of freedom of choice. Either you can choose your actions or what you will do is already determined and fixed.
According to the concept of the seven gods, Destiny is the combination of the seven. It functions based on; if you let greed grow uncontrolled in you, the chances are you will repeatedly cheat and steal or be very stingy. That character gives you a reputation which is extremely unattractive, and so your destiny will be to never have a good relationship personally, and never be trusted in your work.
Each of the qualities, if left unchecked, will form ones personality and based on that personality, you will be faced with the results of your actions, which is called; Destiny, or Karma.
Destiny is not fixed for your life. It is only fixed based on your personality at the moment. If you can change, and remove any of the qualities, your destiny will change as well. I have changed my destiny and the destiny of many other people in this way. It can be done, and in this manner, you become the master of your life and future.
Why am I saying all this? Because life sucks! And, it’s getting worse every day. With this virus, life is going to change with many restrictions of social separation and limitations, and it’s never going to go back to the way it was.
The world is coming to an end in the sense of our right to move around freely, think for ourselves, choose how we want to interact socially.
Now is the time that we have to do something to make sense of our life, to find some purpose, some point to continue living without just shutting down and allowing those negative qualities to increase with the new restrictions to our right to live, to the point where we bring on another revolution or world war.
The gods have taken away our freedom of choice and clouded us with their qualities to trap us, the governments are taking away all our human rights, the world is robbing us of what little threads of humanity we have left.
As I said at the start, we have nothing else, and nothing more valuable to do, than to release ourselves from the seven negative qualities and find that love we all want and need, both in another person and in our own heart towards ourself.
